Martel Groupe is a construction group dealing with a very large amount of projects in the Rhône area, made up of multiple companies under its umbrella. DWF-Communication, with the partnership of the communication service of Martel, made the previous website and I was tasked, along my team, to redesign and offer UX & UI solutions to improve the access of certain parts of the website.
Among those parts were the communication of the group and its different companies, such as which project they were working on, press release... or the better understanding of which work was made by which company under the name "Martel Groupe".
One of the solution we provided was to filter in a better way the information released by the communication services of Martel, instead of just having a yearly archive to go through. This filter, based on various taxonomies and key words, is available on each of the various "news" categories : Press, Projects ...
One other point, was to reorganize the presentation of the different services that are offered to the prospects, and how they are linked to each company.
A modular system is placed in the back office to let the editors of Martel stay true and consistent to the design while letting them play with the presentation of their content. This allows also for a better and faster way of identifying issues if any arise from content management while dealing with the clients needs later down the line.
The final version that was released into production received some modification in the design, as the red was too proeminent and aggressive for the client, and the edges too sharp for a company that wanted to make sure its family value were represented correctly. We rounded down a large part of the buttons on the website and sharp edges, while keeping the red on the main area that needed to grab the user attention, streamlining the process.
