Relios specialize in integrating the environnment in their architectural projects. Working mostly in the Guyane, they try to make ecological processes to blend in with the surrounding, without destroying the area.
The client was very keen on explaining his process and philosophical views on his work and business. He provided us the sitemap he hoped for, which was far too intensive to allow a smooth experience for a user.
As such, one of the main task with this project was to alleviate and condense the content, page number, and let the user inform himself on the specific way of building from Relios, while not burying them in information.
Reducing the content and making it stay into one page per specificity of the client work was one way we managed to help the user experience, while the other one was to make a play on the useable area of the screen.
On the left part of the screen is a two fold area that deploy itself depending on how deep we are within the arborescence. This area allows us to give a linking and summary of the different section of the website that stay accessible for the user, and only the right part actually scroll, screen by screen, to give the user its information.
Using such a system permit a user to access any part of the website in around 3 clicks, while it would have taken more than 8 if we took the information provided by the client as is. This also create a framework for the client to work with, as he had trouble seeing how to balance the content for a website.
In the end, this project was dropped and is not hosted anymore. This work was still very valuable to me in the way that it made me think a lot about how to reduce a very large amount of information while staying true to the vision of the client.
